JOB SUMMARY

Are you a Cause-Driven Leader with a passion for youth development? The YMCA of NWNC is looking for a Seasonal Youth Development Coordinator to lead a partner program with Winston Salem-Forsyth County Schools (Summer Exploration Experiences) serving children from Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the management of the Summer Exploration and Experience program. Other responsibilities will be helping to develop/lead the Association Summer Camp training in addition to other duties as needed.

The Program Coordinator must exemplify the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith in all aspects of job performance, and in building and maintaining relationships with school personnel, participants, volunteers, and staff. Ideal candidates will have proven success in supervising staff, increasing enrollment, cross-promotion of programs, time management skills, and strengthening program quality.

Schedule: Must be available Monday- Friday between 7:00 am-6:00pm-Hours may vary according to the needs of the program. Some weekends may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead a large staff team between multiple school sites

• Creates staff schedules.

• Manage, Train, and develop program staff and volunteers within Youth Development.

• Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.

• Organize and schedule program registrations.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and participation in programs.

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community organizations.

• Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints promptly

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Day Camp or Education

• The preferred candidate will have a college degree in recreation management, Elementary Education, or a related field and/or experience equivalent.

• 2-5 years of YMCA experience is preferred.

• Able to work with minimal supervision preferred.

• Strong Computer proficiency; experience with MS Office preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, organization, and communication skills are required for this position.
